Types of Requests

Universal Borrowing (UB)
This service allows you to request books from other UW Libraries.  It is the fastest and most efficient way to get books not held in the JDH Library and you can easily renew materials.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
ILL allows you to request books that are not available at any other UW Library.  You may also request journal articles that are not available in fulltext through any of UW-Superior's online databases or print journals. How long you can checkout materials or renew materials is limited by the library we borrow from.

What You Will Need

  • Your UWS username and password
    or
  • Your UWS ID number (all 16 digits without spaces) and your last name (lowercase letters)
  • Access to your campus e-mail for notifications

Additional Information

The same procedures used for requesting books are also used for videos, recordings, or other material. Non-print items may be harder to get than print materials because some libraries do not loan out AV materials or have more restrictions on loans.

With your UW-Superior ID card you may check out books from WITC, St. Scholastica, UMD, Fond-du-Lac Tribal and Community College, and Lake Superior College.
